A NIX ZONING ORDINANCE ADOPTED, AND TO DET.ERIMINE THE
ADOPTION OF THE ZONING MAP OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATERs
FLORIDA, OF 1952; PROVIDING FOR REGISTRATION AND QUAL1-
FICATZON OF ELECTORS; PROVIDING FOR THE MANNER OF CON-
DUCT OF SAID ELECTION; PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF SAID
ELECTION; PROVIDING FOR DETEHM;ING THE RESULTS OF.SAID
ELECTION, AND PROVIDING FOR THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS
ORDINANCTo
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION I. That a Special Municipal Election shall bo held in the manner herein
provided, on Tuesday.. December lb, 1952, for the purpose of determining whether
or not Ordinance No. 455, the City Zoning Ordinanco, shall be repealed and a new
City Zoning Ordinance adopted,
SECTION II. At said Special Municipal Election, Ordinance No., 627, known as
the "City Zoning Ordinance" shall be submitted to a vote and said ordinance
No. 627: voted upon, shall be accepted or rejected as a whole.
SECTION 321. Only qualified electors of the City of Clearwaator, Florida, who
are freeholders within said City of Clearwater,, Florida, shall be eligible to
vote in said special election.
SECTION IV. All persons shall be considered as qualified freeholders in the
City of Clearwater, Florida,, who shall be registered as such according to law,
as evidenced by the records of the Supervisor of Registration of Pinellas County,
Florida, and as shown on a certified list thereof submitted by said Supervisor
fifteen days prior to said election. Registration books for the purposes of said
election shall be closed thirty days prior to and inclusive of the election date.
SECTION V. The list no certified and submitted by the County Su?servisar of Regis-•
tration shall be open to public inspection at the office of the Cy Auditor and
Clerk upon receipt of same from said Supervisor and it shall not be necessary to
otherwiso publish the names listed theroon.
SECTION VI. At least four days before the date of said election the City Comi.ssion
of the City of Clearwater, Florida, nhal.l.meet at the City Hall for the purpose of
reviewing such registration list and to restore any mans or names to suchlist an
may have been improper>,,y emitted or stricken therefrom. The registration list so
revised and completed shall constitute the list of voters eligible to vote in su{sh
election, Notice of meeting to revise the list shall be given at least one weak
before said election by publication one time in a newspaper of general, circulation
in the City of Clearwater, Florida.
SECTION VII. The City Commission shall cause to be published in a newspaper of
general circulation in the City once a weak for two consecutive weeks a notice
stating the purpose of the election, the polling places, and the class of persons
eligible to vote therein, the first publication to be at least tan days before the
data of the election.
SECTION VIII. Votes in ouch election shall be cast at polls net up in the City
Fire Station an North Garden Avenue in the City of Clearwater, Florida, and the
Clearwater Beach Fire Station on Mandalay Avenue on Clearwater Beach in the City
of Clearwater. The polls shall open at 7:00 AN Eastern Standard Time and close
at 7200 PH Eastern Standard Time on the day of said electiono
SECTION 1X. Inspectors and Clerks of the election shall be appointed by the City
Comeission except that if the Commission shall fail to appoint same at least tva
days before the date of the election, the Mayor-Cominaioner shall appoint them.

SECTION Z. The question to be submitted to the voters at said election shall be
whether or not Ordinsnce No. 627, shall be accepted or rejected as a mole. Voting
machines shall be used and the ballots shall contain the question,

The election shall be conducted in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance
Me. 567, and ether applicable laws. True sample. • copies - of Ordinance Ne. 627,1''
together with an accurate copy of "The Zoul g Kap of the City at Clearwater,
' Florida, of 1952#" mentioned in said Ordinance Nob 6n shall be posted at each
` polling place, and said Ordinance (less the Zoning Hap5 shall be published in
j` full in two separate issues of a uexepaper of general circulation in Clearwater,
Florida, the first Insertion to be at least six days prior'to December the loth,
1952.
MOTION XI. The result of the voting shall be certified by returns in duplicate `
h -, signed by the Clerk and a majority of the election inspectors. One co of such
return ahall be delivered to the
'• ,: 3dayor-Commrisaioaer and the other copy to the City
Auditor and Clerk, both of 'whom shall transmit such returns to the City' Commission
at a meeting to be held at 12:00 Noon Eastern Standard Time an the day felloidng
the election. At such meeting the Commission shall canvass the returns and declare

MOTION X11. All things done and accomplished in compliance with this Ordinance
and in furtherance of the purposes of this Ordinnance.. prior to the effective date
f hereof are hereby ratified and confirmed as being in compliance with this Ordinance.
