LICENSES FOR THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
PROVIDING FOR THE MANNER A14D CONDITIONS OF
THEIR ISSUANCE: PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR
FAILURE TO COMPLY THER2111TH AND PROVIDING
THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS ORDINANCE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
SECTION 1. Ordinance No, 580, Occupational License
Tax Ordinance, be and the same is hereby repealed in its
entirety.
SECTION 2. No person shall engage in or manage the
profession, business or occupation hereinafter named, within the.
City of Clearwater, Florida, unless a city license shall be .
issued to each person or persons on receipt of the amount
hereinafter stated and the same shall be signed by the City
Treasurer and Taxollector, and shall have the City seal
affixed.,
SECTION 3. On and after October 1, 1951, the following
license tax shall be assessed and collected, to wit:

Every business occupation, profession, or exhibition, r
substantial fixed or temporary a engaged in by any
person within the City and for which no license fee
has been ordained and not herein specifically desig-
nated shall apply directly to the City Commission
for' classification and licensee The City Commission
shall establish such classification and the cost of
such license at that time without undue dolay.
All license taxes hereby ordained shall be due and payable
on the first day of October of each years and if. not paid within
thirty (30) days thereafter, the same shall be considered in
default, and subject to a 5% penalty, and it shall be, and it is''
hereby made the duty of the City Manager to make affidavit for. the
arrest of any person failing or refusing to pay the same, and to
cause such person to be brought before the Municipal Court for
trial.
The right to revoke any license issued under the provisions
of this Ordinance, for cause, is reserved to the City of Clearwater,,
and said revocation shall be made at the direction of the City
Commission.
Any person or persons, firm or corporation, or association
4. that shall carry on or conduct any business, occupation, or pro-
fession. for which a license is hereby required, without first
'. obtaining such license, shall, upon conviction, be-punished by a
fine of not more than Two Hundred Dollars (:200.00) or be imprisoned
for not more than sixty days, or both.
SECTION. Any ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict
}
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5. No occupational license shall be issued to any
person otherwise required by Ordinance of the City of Clearwater

to have a certificate of competency or to have passed an examination
before engaging in a business or Rrofession in said City, until
such person shall have exhibited to the City Treasurer and Tax
Collector proof of having said certificate or of having passed. '
