Zone 2 as not forth in said ordinance to read an fo]lowat
Zone 9. Consiuting of all torritory on Clearwater Beach Island bounded by
Clearwater Street on the north and First Street on the south.
All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith be and the same are
hereby repealed.
This ordinance shall take effect immediately upon its passage and adoption
by the City Commisaion of the City of Clearwater.

Dear Mr. Richards:
We refer to Mr. Fenderacn'a letter to you under data of January-25th con-
cerning franchise tax information to be furnished you. In this connection,
please be advised that the amount of franchise tax paid to the City of Clear-
water by the company during the year 1945 totalled 410,366.72. The tax was '
based on 3% of the gross revenue received from all electric service sold with-
in the corporate limits of the City of Clearwater. Under the proposed 4%
franchise tax on gross revenue, the tax paFment would be approximately
$•13,850, based on 1945 revenue, or a 33-1/0 increase.
We also give the'following information relative to costa for the City's
electric reouirementa purchased during the year,1945:

Eased on present fuel oil costa of 4,1.30 per barrel and aaauming the same
M consumption, the billing will be appraxim:ate17 L710 leas than the above
reflecting an average rate or 1.57¢ for all uses. It is also proposed, in
the new contract, that the consumption of the city hall be consolidate with otha
miscellaneous uses and billed at the contract rate, In lieu of the present
regular commercial rate now applicable for this service. This will also re-
flect a slight saving.
