'?N PROPRIATIONS THEREFOR% BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMISS1014=OF THE CITY OF CLEARVIATER, FLORIDA: There Is hereby extablished an advisory board to be known as. the Public Recreation Board for the City of Clearwater, consisting; of five (5) members who shall serve without pay. The City.Yaanager shall be' an ex officio member of the Board. The Board shall serve in an advisory capacity in connection with- recreational activities conducted on' all public play grounds, athletic fields, bathing beaches, swimiiing pools, and other recreational centers, and aotivl- ties on any of the properties owned or controlled lry the City, except the Municipal Auditorium and the.Municipal Golf Course. The duties of the Board shall be to consult and advise with the City Manager and other municipal officers ff ?i 'a ;. r i .s ,E regarding such recreational activities. `11o Board shall make semi-annual reports to the City Commission, and such reports shall. include any, receirimendations that the Board desires to make concerning recreational activities. The ; 1 = Board may submit special reports and recommendations to the City Commission at any time it so desires. ; The Board shall recommend to the City Manager :„. some suitable person especially trained and properly auali-- fled for the position of Superintendant of Public Recreation,. and such assistants as shall from time to time be necessary. The Superintendant of Public Recreation shall have supervision and direction of public recreation, and all recreational activities conducted on properties owned or controlled by the City, except the Municipal Auditorium and the Municipal Golf Course, All funds. received by the Superintendant or his assistants. in conn- ection with recreational activities shall be considered as moneys belonging to the City and shall promptly be turned over to the City Treasurer. Moneys no received shall be credited to the recreational fund and shall be available for recreational activities, in addition to the funds provided in the budget for that purpose. The Public Recreation Board shall be appointed by the City Cor,=ission for the term of tuo years. In case of vacancy in said Board, the unexpired term shall be filed by appointment as provided herein. The City I,;anager, shall in his annual. budget, estimates the necessary expenses for the maintenance of the recreational system as provided herein. Ordinance No. 257, adopted July 8th, 1.926P bB and the same is hereby repealed. All other ordinances and resolutions in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and adoption by the City Commissicn. Passed and adopted by the City Commission on the. 25th day of January, A. D. 1939. E. B.
