AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE
CITY OR CLEARWATEtt, FLORIDA AND THE I-SORIDA POWER CORPORATION, ;
` ITS LEGAL REPRESENTATIVES, SUCCESSORS AND ASSIGNS, F OH THE
Purchase of SIXTYuEIGHT ORNAMENTAL WHITE WAY "SHERIDAN" LIGHTING
STANDARDS FRCM SAID CORPORATION BY SAID CITY OF CLEARWATER,

-FLORIDA, FOR REPLACEMENT Ob' STANDARDS ON CLEVELAND STREET AND
FORT HARRISON AVENUE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clearwater,
Florida,. has deemed it necessary and to the best interests of
the City of Clearwater, Florida, to install fib double lighting
standards on Cleveland Street and Fort Harrison Avenue, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has considered the report of
the City Manager under date of November 14th, wherein it appears
that opportunity for competition.has been given to contractors for
the furnishing and installation of said standards, and
WHEREAS, the City Commission having considered the said report
and upon investigation it appearing that the offer of the Florida
Power Corporation is the best offer considering quality and price,
for the furnishing and installation of said standards, and
WHEREAS, it has been deemed advisable by the City Commission
to enter into a contract with the Florida Power Corporation for
the purchase of said standards, and that definite and proper
provision be made for the payment of said standards, and the
representatives of the Florida Power Corporation and, the Officials
of the City having agreed upon the terms and conditions of the
said. contraot;
NOW, THEM-ORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY CMISSION Oe'
THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City of Clearwater, Florida, hereby
agree to make and enter into a contract with the Florida Power
Corporation, its legal representatives, successors and assigns to
buy and purchase of the said Company sixty-eight(68).ornamental
white way"Sheridan" Standards at a price of one Hundred Thirty
end 80/100 Dollars($130.80) per standard, plus net cost of

t in the ornamental white tray system on Cleveland Street and Fort
Harrison Avenue, Clearwater, Florida, the City paying therefor the
total sum of Eight Thousand Eight Hundred Ninety-four and 40/100
Dollars(,$8,894.40), plus net cost of installation, which said amount
together with interest at the rate of six percent(6%)per annum,

'. is to be paid in three equal annual installments due one, two and
three years from the date of said agreement.
Section 2. That the annual franchise tax paid to the City of
Clearwater, by the Florida Power Corporation, be, and the same is,

Section 4. That this ordinance shall be effective upon its '
passage and adoption by the City Commission of the City of
Clearwater, Florida.
