AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY CwMISSIO 01•' THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, Td' BE LNTITLE:D "AN' C(IDINANGE EXTENDING THE TL"RRIT01111AL f LI111ITS OF THE CITY OF CLLARr?ATLR, FLORIDA." i WAEHEAS, the City of Clearwater, Florida, desires to change its territorial limits by the annexation of the unincorporated tracts of land lying contiguous to the said City of Cloarwater, and within the County of Pinellas, and WHEREAS, there are more than ton (10) registered voters resid- "f 1. ing in said territory so desired to be annoxed. NOW THEREFORE", BE IT ORDAINED 3Y THE CITY COII`LUSSION 0? THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA: -- 7 SECTION ONE: That itis hereby declared to be the desire and ` intention -of the City of Clearwater, to extend its territorial limits by the annexation of the territory herein described, which said territory is unincorporated and lying contiguous to the City of Clearwater, Florida, and within the County of Pinellas, there being more than ten(10) registered voters rediding in said' territory, said territory boing particularly described as follows, to-wit: "BSginning at the Sid corner of the SL4 of the SE-41 of Sec. 21, Twp 29 S R 15 E run south 2 mile along the west line of the NE4 of NET' Sec. 28, Twp 29 S. R 15 E and the west line of the SE4 of NE-!,, Sec. 28, of Twp & Range aforesaid to the SIY cor. of the SE4 of NE-1 of Sec. 26, Twp & Range aforesaid; thence east 3/4 mile to the Se car. of NE-1, of Sec. 27, Twp & Range aforesaid; thence notth j mile to the north boundary of said Sec. 27; thence west along the north boundaries of Sections 27 and 28, Twp & Range aforesaid to the point of beginning." SECTION TWO: The City Commi.ssiondoes hereby declafe its intention to annex said tract of land to said city and to extend the corporate limits of said city so as to embrace the whole and every part, of said territory, subject to the approval of the election herein provided. '.lrl'•' I.i 11JF 64'7 City and in said territory Tor the purpono of submitting to the separate vote of the registered voters of said city and the registered voters residing in said territory, the question of whether said territory shall be annoxoa to tbo said city ©nd the territorial liinits of said City shall be extended so as to embrace said territory. Said election shall be hold on the 12th day of April., 1927, and the polling place at which the registered voters residing in said territory shall cast their ballots in said elect-- ion shall be in ColesJ Filling Station, in said territory. The polls shall be open at said polling places at 7 oo O'clock in the forenoon, or as soon after as practical, and closed at 6/3o in the afternoon. Mr J. F. Burnett Mrs. Stella Johnson, and Mrs. Ida Kisby are hereby appointed inspectors, and Drs. Gus Manwarren is hereby appointed clerk of the election for the purpose of hold- ing said election in said city, and Fred Taylor, J. O. Apgar and Henry Forbes, aro hereby appointed inspectors, and J. A. Walsingham is hereby appointed clerk of the election for the purpose of hold- ing said election in said territory, at the polling place in said territory aforesaid. Said inspectors and said clerks shall hold said election in accordance with law, and make the returns as required by law, and if the said inspectors, and clerks, or either of them, cannot act, or will not act, other inspectors and clerks may be appointed to discharge such duties. Ballots to be used in said election shall be substantially in the following form: OFFICIAL BALLOT SPECIAL ELECTIOV HELD ON THE 12th DAY OF APHIL,a.1927, FOR THE ANNEXATIOil OF TERRITORY Each elector shall prepare his ballot by making a cross mark (x)" before the answer he desires. Shall the following described territory: (here describe,. territory set forth in Section One) be annexed to the City of glearwater, Florida, and the territorial limits of said City be extended so as to embrace said territory? YES NO 4 J I "1 '' aim 11' r , I- SECTION FOUR: If a majority of two thirds of the registored `r votors actually voting in said election in said city and in said territory shall be for the annexation of the said territory then this Ordinance shall become and be effective on the first day of 4 May, 1927, and the corporate limits of said City in that event shall be and are hereby extended so as to 'embrace said territory' r' c E, " ' 1: k• ?,f i and each and every part thereof; but if the majority of two thirds of said registored voters actually voting in said election insaid city and in ssid territory shall not be in favor of annexation of said territory, then this Ordinance shall thereupon be void and of no effect. SECTION FIVE: This Ordinance shall be published in the a newspaper of,general circulation in the said city, once a week for Five (5) consecutive weeks prior to the said election. SECTIO14 SIX: All Ordinances or parts of Ordinances in conflict with this Ordinance are hereby repealed; and all Ordinances or parts Of Ordinances not in conflict with this Ordinance shall remain in full force and effect.
