Issuance and Sale of Bonds of the City of Clodrwatero
Florida; To provide for the payment of sn id. bonds and
to proscribe the purposes from which the money derived
from the sale of said Bonds shall be Expended. }.

SECTION 1, That the City Commission of the Uity
of Clearwater, Florida, be and it is hereby authorized
to borrow the sum of 'three Hundred Sixty-Seven Thousand ;. ,
($367,000.00) Dollara, or such parts or portions thereof .
as may be approved by the electors of said City, voting
in the election as herein provided, laid sum to be used
and expended for the following purposes, or sdch of them ,
as shall be approved by the said electors of'said elections
1. For the extension and improvement of the waterwork
System of said City, One Hundred Ninbty Thousand
($1900000.00) Dollars,:
29 For the improvement and extension of the Gas
System, Seventy Thousand: ($gO,000oOO) Dollars!;
3. For drains add storm sewers, Fifty- eight }' t ..

4. For the purchase of Jeffords- Smoyer Park adjacent , . '

SECTION 2. To secure the payment of said sum or
sums to be borrowed as aforesaid* the City Commission
skull issue and,sell negotiable ' coupon bonds-,of the City
of Cloarivater, Florida, in denominations of One ,
Thousand Dollars each. FAoh of saiddbonds. shah, be
payable in gold coin of the United Stated of America of
current weight and fineness, or its equivalent$ and
shall be payable at the Mechanics & Metals National Bank
in the City of New Yo!rlc$ State of New York, to each of
said bonds' shall-be attached 'interest couponsi of such
number and amount as shall be necessary to pay the ,
interest semiannually on the principal stun of said bonds
i at the rate .of 5? per cent per ani=,, until the principal
of said bonds shall become due and payable and each of
said bonds shall mature thirty 'years from the Ist day of 4
July$ 1925. Said bonds and the said coupons attached thereto
shall be receivable by the City of Clearwater., Floridap
for all taxes and indebtedness due the City of every kind ;.

SECTION 3. The form of said bonds, not in conflict
with this Qrdinance, shall be approved by the City it

SECTION 4. When said bonds shall have been issued
as.-herein provided, the City Commission is hereby
authorized to sell said bonds at either private or

public sale, for the best price obtainable therefor, and
the proceeds" derived from the sale of said bonds shall
be used and expended only for the purposes herein s
expressed as such of said purposes as may be approved .
by the electors- of said City, voting in said election.
Provided that if there be a surplus derived from the sale
of said bonds after the completion ofthe purposes herein
set forth, or such of said purposes as shall be approved
in said election, such surplus may be used f'or any
municipal purpose of said City.
SECTION 5., The City dommission shall have full
control, direction and authority over the money derived
fron the sale of said bonds for the purposes herein set
forth, or such of s#id purposes as shall be so approved
by electorm aforesaid, voting in said election and the
expenditure -of said money for such purposes.
SECTION 6* In event=;that said bonds, or any
portion thereof, are issued and sdld a special tax
shall be assessed$ levieds and collected each year
upon all property* both real and personal, subject to
taxation within the corporate limits of the City of
Clearwater for the purpose of paying interest upon said
fronds, semi-annually as herein set forth and an additional
tax upon all of such property as shall be necessary
shall be assessed, levied,and collected each Year for
the purpose of providing a sinking fund for the payment
of said bonds at their maturity, Said sinking funds
shall be deposited and invested as provided by the Charter
of the City of Clearwater, provided that the saitd

SECTION 7. A special election shall be held in said '
City in accordance with the Charter and Ordinances of

shall be determined whether said issue of bonds as
herein mentioned shall be issued and sold, and in said
election the electors of.said. City shall vote separately
upon each of the said propositions. Said election shall be
