ORDINANCE NO, 142.
AN'Ordinance To Be Entitled, An Ordinance to Provide
For the Issuance of Bonds For The Extension or Alteration of
Water System of the Town of Clearwater, Florida, in the sum
of Eight Thousand ('$8,000) Dollars,-in Accordance with the
vote of the Electors of said Town at the Election hold on the
Sixth day of October, 1914.
Be It Ordained By the Town Council Of The Town of Clearwater, ?
Florida:
Section. 1. That tho Town Council of the Town of.
Clearwater, Florida, is authorized to issue negotiable coupon
bonds of the Town of Clearwater, Florida, in the sum of
Eight Thousand ($8,000) Dollars. And that the proceeds of
such bonds shall be used for the Extension and Alteration
of water system as authorized.
Section 2. That said bands shall be numbered from
sixty-seven (67) to eighty-two (82), both inclusive and shall
be in demonination of $500,00 each; said bonds shall be
dated the first day of November 1914, and mature on the first
sday of Hovember.1944; shall bear interest at the rate of five
(5 per cent) per centum peb annum, payable semi--annually on
the first day of May and November, and shall have coupons
attached for each installment of interest. Both principal
and interest of said bonds shall be made payable in gold
coin of the United States of America, of the present standard

of weight and fineness, at the Mechanics and Metals National
Bank, in the city of New York, New York.

Section 3. That said bonds shall bear the certificate of d
validation of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of the Sixth.;
Judicial Circuit in and for Pinellas County, State of Vlorida,
and:.said bonds shall be in substantially the following form,viz:

pay indebted, and for value received hereby promises to
to bearer on the first day of November, A:D. 19440 the
principal sum of 1-'IVF, HUNDRED DOLLARS ($500.00) together with
interest thereon from the date hereof until paid, at the rate
of five (5 per cent.) per centum, per annum, payable semi-
annually on the first day of May and the first day of November,
which interest to tho date of maturity of the principal is
evidenced by and payable upon presentation and surrender of the
annexed coupons as they severally become due. Both principal
and interest of this bond are payable in gold coin of the
United States of America of current weight and fineness at
the Mechanics and Metals National Bank, Hew York City,,,New York.
Section 3. That said bonds shall bear the certificate of

Judicial Circuit in and for Pinellas County, State of Florida,

RNGV,ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS THAT the Town of Clearwater,
in the County of Pinellas, State of Florida, acknowledges
itself indebted, and for value received hereby promises to pay
the bearer on the first day of i4ovember A.D. 1944, the
Principal sum of FIVE HUNDRED DOLLARS (,$500.00) together with
interest thereon from the date hereof until paidp at the rate
of five (5 per cent.) per annum, payable semi-annually on the
first day io't May and the first day of 14ovember which interest
to the date of maturity of the principal is evidenced by and
payable upon presentation and surrender of the annexed interest
coupons as they severally become due. Both principal and
interest'of this bond are payable in gold coin of the United
States of America of current weight and fineness at the Mechanics
and Metals National Bank, New York City, New York.
And for prompt payment of the principal and interest of
this bond as same respectively becomes due, the FULL FAITH, .
CREDIT. and RESOURCES of the said Town are hereby irrevocably
pledged.

THIS BOND is issued by the Town of Clearwater for the
purpose of providing funds for drainago purposes in tho said,
Town, and is issued pursuant to the authority containod in
S Section 9, 6hnptor 6046, Laws of Florida, 1909, and has boon
duly authorized by a favorable vote at an election duly and ;
i legally called and hold for that purpose and by resolutions,

ordinances and proceedings of the Town Council of said town
duly passed and approved and adopted,
AND IT IS HEREBY CERTIFIED AND RECITED that all conditions

acts and things required by the Constitution and the Laws of
the State of Florida to exist, happen and be perforated pre-
cedent to and in the issuance of this bond have existe9,,
happened and been performed in regular and due form, time
and manner as required by law and that the amount of this bond
together with all other indebtedness of said town, does not
exceed any constitutional or statutory limitation.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF# said Town of Clearwater, has caused
this bond to be signed by its Mayor, and attested by the
Town Clerk and its corporate seal to be hereto affixed, and
has caused the annexed interest coupons to be authenticated
with the lithographed fac simile signatures of each of said
officers and this bond to be dated the first day of November

levied and collected upon the real and personal property in
said Town, subject to taxation, for the purpose of providing "
a sinking fund for payment of said bonds at their maturity.
~ The said sinking fund so raised shall be invested in State
and County Bonds, or outstanding bonds of the Town of Clear-
water., or first class improved real estate mortgages carrying
n nce full amount loan*
Section 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in
conflict with 'this ordinance are hereby repealed insofar as
they conflict.
