AN ORDINANCE to Amend Section Eighty--six of the Code of the Town
of'Clearwater, Relative to the Appointment and Pay of Inspedtora
and Clerks of Elections in the Town of Clearwater.
Be it ordained by the Town Council of the Town of
Clearwater, Florida:'
Section 1. That section eighty-six (86) of the Code of
the Town of Clearwater, adopted by the Town Council of said town,
and becoming effective on the l5th day of Februarjr, A. D. 1912,
the some being relative to the appointment end pay of inspectors
and clerks of election, be and the some is hereby amended so as to
read as follows:
Section 66. For the purpose of carrying on and conducting
general and special elections, it shall be the duty of the Town
Council, at least fifteen djrys prior to the holding of any
general or specialelection, to appoint three intelligent'. discreet
and fairminded inspectors of election, and a clerk of election.
The Town Council shall cause the names of the inspectors and clerk
of election so sppointed'to be published once in a newspaper
published in the Townof Clearwater, or posted in a conspicuous
place in sa id town at least ten days before the holding of
any general or special election. The inspectors and the clerk of
any general or special election in said torn shall be paid for their
services by the town the sum of two dollars each per dayfor ?.,
performing their respective duties. No person who cannot read and
write the English language shall be appointed clerk or inspector of
any election.
Section 2. All conflicting laws and ordinances-are hereby
repealed.
