BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Chapter 14, Offenses and Miscellaneous Provisions,
of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Clearwater, Florida, 1962, is
hereby amended to enact the following new sections to read as follows:
Section 14-7. 1 Jumping or diving from bridges, piers
or seawalls.
It shall be unlawful within the boundaries of the City of
Clearwater for any person to jump or dive from any public
pier or bridge located across any body of fresh water or
salt water or to jump or dive from any public seawall located
adjoining any body of fresh water or salt water. As used in
this section, the term "public" shall mean any pier, bridge
or seawall owned or controlled by the City of Clearwater,
Pinellas County or the State of Florida.
Section 14-7.2 Sitting on railing of piers, bridges or
seawalls.
It shall be unlawful within the boundaries of the City of
Clearwater for any person to sit, stand or occupy any
railing located upon or across any public pier, bridge or
seawall. As used in this section, the term "public" shall
have the same meaning as set forth in Section 14-7. 1 of
the Code of Ordinances.
Section 14-7. 3 Wheeled vehicles on public piers.
It shall be unlawful within the boundaries of the City of
Clearwater for any person to use or occupy any wheeled
vehicle on any public pier where a sign has been posted
prohibiting such activity. Within this section, the term
"wheeled vehicle" shall mean and include any skateboard,
bicycle or roller skates. As used in this section, the term
"public pier's shall mean any pier owned or controlled by the
City of Clearwater.

Section 3.• Any person, organization,. society, association or
corporation, or any agent or representative thereof, who shall violate the
provisions. of this ordinance shall be subject, upon conviction, to a fine not

Section 4. Should any section, paragraph, sentence or word of this
ordinance be declared for any reason to be invalid, the same shall not affect
the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any part thereof other than the
part declared to be invalid.
Section 5. Notice of the proposed enactment of this ordinance has
been properly advertised in a newspaper of general circulation in accordance
with Section 166.041, Florida Statutes.
Section 6. The provisions of this ordinance shall take effect
immediately upon its passage.
