BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA: Section 1. Section 25-32, Schedule of Rates, of Article I, Taxicabs, of Chapter 25, Vehicles for Hire, of the Code of Ordinances, of the City of Clearwater, Florida, 1962, is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 25-32. Schedule of rates. There is hereby established a uniform schedule of rates which shall be utilized by all taxicab operators operating taxicabs equipped with an approved taximeter within the City of Clearwater. The uniform schedule of rates shall be as follows: (1)4-06-g 1.00 drop (first 4.1-7 1 4 mile) then 494- 204 for each additional-14-7-1 ?4 mile for one (1) passenger plus 254 for each additional passenger. (2) Two (2) minute limit from point of origin until customer (passenger) is in the cab before the driver trips the taximeter. (3) Extras: (a) 26i-50? for handling everything over two (2) grocery bags, not to exceed eight (8) bags. (b) 254 for handling up to two (2) suitcases, and 151 for each additional suitcase over two. (c) 254 for each additional person, and no cab may operate with more than four (4) passengers. (4) Hourly Rates: (a) Standing $7r99 5.00 (b) Cruising $7r99 8.00 (5) The taximeter clocking device shall be so regulated as to activate when the vehicles slow to 12 miles per hour or less and shall reflect a rate of 11r66J 13. 334 per minute or $7rfl9 8.00 per hour. It shall be unlawful for any driver, operator or chauffeur of any meter equipped taxicab to charge a fare either greater or less than the fare as registered on said taximeter. Said schedule of rates shall be subject to review and change by the City Commission at any time. Ord. #1995 -1- 9/20/79 Section 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are to the extent of such conflict hereby repealed. Section 3. Should any section, paragraph, sentence or word of this . ordinance be declared for any reason to be invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole, or any part thereof other than the part declared to be invalid. Section 4. Notice of the proposed enactment of this ordinance has been properly advertised in a newspaper of general circulation in accordance with Section 166.041, Florida Statutes. Section 5. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
