AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
RELATING TO UTILITIES; AMENDING SECTION 50,05(c)(1),
CODE OF ORDINANCES, RELATING TO WATER IMPACT FEES, TO
INCREASE THE WATER IMPACT FEE FROM $350.00 TO $480.00
PER EQUIVALENT LIVING UNIT FOR ALL NEW WATER SYSTEM
ACCOUNTS AND ALL EXISTING ACCOUNTS WHERE CHANGES OF USE
OF THE PROPERTY CAUSE AN INCREASE IN WATER SERVICE
DEMAND; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Paragraph (1) of Subsection (c) of Section 50.05, Code of
Ordinances, is amended to read:
Sec. 50.05. Deposit, fees, service charges and rate schedules.
(c) Impact fees:
(1) Water. There is hereby imposed a water impact fee, based on the
capital portion of the cost of financing the extension of the city's water
system, on the equivalent single-family residential unit or "equivalent-jiving
unit" which is responsible for creating the need for additional water system
financing. The obligation for payment of the fee shall occur at the time the
first building or plumbing permit is issued. The water impact fee shall be as
follows:

occasioned by changes in property usage subsequent to the effective date of
this subsection shall be subject to a water impact 4e--lepffient•fee computed in
accordance with subparagraph a, above --Sena

connection which will increase water er sewer demand,

new equivalent living units shall be determined by

units in the entire structure faeil4ty. The water impact fee will be assessed
on the remaining number of new equivalent living
units.
e. 4,- Whenever any work for which an impact fee 4-s> required by this
subsection G&de• has been commenced without first paying such fee, then such
fee shall be tripled.
d. e,- New lawn meters shall be assessed by meter size as follows:
