TilE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AND FILE A GRANT APPLICATION UNDER
Till! PUBLIC LIBRARY GRANT PROGRAM WlTll TIlE FLORIDA STATU (,I BRAUY ,
DEPARTMENT OF STATE.
MIERBAS, the City of Clearwater has made a long-term commitment
to the provision and improvement of library services and facilities; and
ImEREAS. PL 98-8 the "Emergency Jobs Bill" through the Library
Services and Construction Act has appropriated funds to the Division of
Library Services for the Public Library Construction Grant program on n
50% matching-share basis for local public library construction projects
up to a maximum grant of $200,OOOi and
WHEREAS, local governmental units in the State of Florida which
provide library services arc eligible to submit grant applicationsi and
WHEREAS, such grant application must be filed on or before September I,
1983i
NOW, THEREFORE, BE 11' RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY
ASSEMBLED, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to
execute and file a grant application under the Public Library Construction
Grant program of the Florida Division of Library Services, to construct a
library at Drew Street and Belcher Road. and to furnish all information nnd
datn necessary to complete said grant application.
2. That all funds necessary to meet the mntching fund obligations
of the City with the Division of Library Services have been appropriated
and that said funds are unexpended and unencumbered.
3. This resolution shall become effective imml::ldiately upon its
adoption.
