WHEFtEAS, Dunedin Pass has been closed and in need of dredging for r�
number oi years; and
WH�REAS; Dunedln Pass forms a very imporiant link tr� the intracoasial
watervvay system; and
WHEREAS, openir�g Uunedln l�ass wauld be very benefiaiat tc 4saattng
irafflc and the wa#erway system; a�d
WHEREAS, Clearwater has been attempting ta secure the opening af thEs .
pass for a number af years; and „
WH�R�AS, the City Cammission of Clenrwater, F'lorida, daes not believe
that dredg;ng for Hur�Zcar+e Pass shauld receive a highEr priority than Ounedin Pass;
and
WH�REAS, the City Commission of Clearwater wfshes to request tE�e
agencfes involved to re-examine their goals more cEosely prior to fun�ing a drecEging
project ior Hurricane Pass.

COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF Ci�EARWA7ER, FLORIDA, IN

FD�LOWS:
I. �'hat the Cfty Commission af the City of Clearwater, Florido, hereby
requests Ptnellas County, the State af Flarida, Depqrtment of Natural Resources, and
the Army Corps of �ngineers to re-examine their goals and prforities wEih respect ta
t�e Dunedin Pass dredging project c�nd Hurricane Pass dredging project with a vIew to
flccarding a higt�er priority to the Dunedin Pass Project.
2, That the City C�mmtssion of the City of Clsarwc�ter, Florida, helieves
thot a further revfew and analysis of �he projects wilf demonstrate that the Dunedin
Pass project should rece�ve mare irr�mediate attention.
3. 7hat a copy of thEs Resolution be provided tL.the Chairman of the
Pine�las County Commissian; to the Executive �irectnr af State of FlorEclo
Oepartment of Natural Resources; and to the Army Corps of Engineers.
4. l�hat thfs Reso�ution shall take effect immediately upon its acloption.
