WHEREAS, the administrative and enforcement costs involved in
servicing tree removal application permits, clearing and grubbing permits
and landscape plans have significantly increased in recent years; and

WHEREAS, it is appropriate that the burden of costs for this municipal
service be placed on the prime user of this service; and
WHEREAS, it has become necessary to encourage compliance on the
part of applicants to prevent unwarranted inspections by the City on sites
that have not been readied for such inspections; and
WHEREAS, such unwarranted inspections or special requests for
untimely single inspections are not in the best interest of manpower efficiency
and fuel conservation; and
WHEREAS, it is proper that such costs be recovered through the
adoption of a fee schedule reflecting current expenditures;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the following fees are hereby established to control
the issuance of permits and inspections under Chapter 98, Tree Protection,
of the Code of Ordinances, City of Clearwater:
(a) Tree removal permit: $3.00 per tree to be removed
(b) Land clearing and grubbing permit: $2.00
(c) Reinspection fee: $25. 00 per additional inspection
under Chapter 98 of Code
(d) Special inspection fee: $25.00

Section Z. That the fees establiFihed herein shall be remitted prior

to issuance of permits, and such fees shall be non-refundable.
Section 3. That the City Manager, upon a showing of just cause,
shall have the right to waive the established fees.
Section 4. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately.
