No. 80 - 91
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CLEAR WA TER. FLORIDA. PESIGNA TINa
THE COMMUNITY ROOM AT THE CITY HALL ANNEX
AS BEING AVAILABLE AS A DISASTER ASSISTANCE
CENTER AND ESTABLISHING THE CRITERIA UNDER
WHICH SUCH USE IS TO BE CARRIED OUT.
WHEREAS, should a natural disaoter such as a hurricane or major
flooding occur and the area be proclaimed a disaster area lhrough a
Presidential DeclaraUon of Major Disaster, then, a place would need to
be made available where privale individuals and private businesses could
seek Federal assistance: and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater has such a place in its Community
Roam located at the City Hall Annex where a Disaster Assistance Center
could be established for the citizens of Clearwater and surrounding areas;
and
WHEREAS, Pinellas County hao requested that such designation be
made for incorporalion in the Pinellas County Natural Disaster Plan: and
WHEREAS, the CHy Commission of the City of Clearwater, Floric1a,
wishes to make the designation and make the facilities available provided
certain conditions are met:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater. Florida.
hereby designales the Community Room located al the City Hall annex as
a Disaster Assistance Center when a disaster has been proclaimed by a
Presidential Declaration of Major Disaster where assistance may be made
available to privale individuals and private busines aes damaged in the
disaster. That the use of lhe Community Room by any agency of the County,
State or Federal Governmenl shall be conditioned upon such agency complying
with the terms set forili in paragraph two (2).
