A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
" OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA. AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER OR nIS DESIGNEE TO CONTRACT AND HIRE
INSTRUCTORS FOR RECREATION PROGRAMS AND CLASSES.
WHEREAS. the Parks and Recreation Department is
responsi~le for the providing of programming for all the
"
citizens of Clearwater; and
WHEREAS. there are certain professional instructors
in the Clearwater area that have skills which can be
utilized by the City; and
WHEREAS. the city staff cannot offer certain programs
and classes that can be offered by a private instructor;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE C!~y
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA.
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. The City Manager or his designee shall have the
'authority to negotiate with and hire special interest in-
instructors for recreation programs where instructors are
necessary.
2. The City Manager or his designee shall have the
authority to set appropriate fees for said special interest
classes and programs.
3. The City Manager or his designee shall have the
authority to sign agreements on behalf of the City with
persona selected as outside instructors.
4. That special interest instructors shall be
compensated for their services on a percentage (%).basis
of claBB fees collected.
This percentage (X) will be
detCTmined at the time of negotiations. however. in no
case will the C~ty ~ake less than 20% of the class fees
collected.
