A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWAHR, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF AN INCREASE IN A
GRANT TO AID IN FINANCING THE COST OF CONSTRUCTING
SEWAGE TREATMENT WOR/G TENDERED BY THE UNITED STATES
OF AMERICAN THROUGH ITS ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
AGENCY, AND TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO
EXECUTE THE GRANT OFFER ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER.
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clecllwater, Plnelras County,
Florida, herein called the "AppUcanttl, aFter thoroush consideration aF the variaus
aspects af the problem and study of available data, has hereby determined that the
construction of certain pubric works, generally described as the Clearwater Northeast
Effluent Transmission line and Alligator Creek Force Main, is desirable and in the
public interest and to that end it is necessary ,that action preliminary to the constructian
of said works be taken immediately; and
WHEREAS, under the terms of Public Law 92-500, Federal Water Pollution
Control Act Amendments of 1972, the United States of America has authorized the
U, S, Environmenta I Protection Agency to make Federal grants far sewage treatment
works to publi c bodies to Clid In finan dng the cost of construction and related costs
aF such public works; Clnd
WHEREAS, the Applicant has previously made application far an increase in
srant funds under Grant Application No. C-12046101O under said Public law
92-500 and the U. S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Flarlda Department
of Environmenla I Regu lation has made on offer to the App Ii cant For an increase In
funds dated May 20, 1980;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, IN SESSION DULY
AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Applicant accepts such offer for an increase in funds as
proFfered inasmuch as the construction of the Clearwater Northeast Effluent
Transmission line and Allisator Creek Force Main are n~cessary and the the accp.ptance
