A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CLEARWA'rER DECLARING ITS SUPPORT
FOR THE STATE OF FLORIDA DEPAR TMENT OF
TRANSPOR TA TION IN ITS EFFOR TS TO SIX LANE
U.S. ROUTE 19 AND CONSTRUCT A SERIES OF
OVERPASSES.
WHEREAS, Federal funds have become available with which to
upgrade U. S. Route 19; and
WHEREAS, tho State of Florida Department of Transportation has
formulated a plan to widen U. S. Route 19 to six lanes and preliminary plans
have evolved to install interchanges at Ulmerton Road, East Bay Drive.
Countryside Boulevard and State Road 580 and Tarpon Avenue: and
WHEREAS, the City Commie sion of the City of Clearwater wishes
to indicate ita support for the concept of the project described herein;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEAR WATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida,
hereby wishes to indica.te its support for the concept of the project now being
proposed by the State of Flot:ida Department of Transportation, which project
includes a plan to widen U. S. Route 19 to six lanes from Gandy Boulevard
to the Pasco County Line and n preliminary plan to install interchanges at
TJhnerton Road, East Bay Drive, Countryside Boulevard and State Road 580
and Tarpon Avenue.
Z. That a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded to the State of
Florida Department of Transportation,
3, That this Resolution shall take effect inunediately upon its
adoption.
