A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA'APPROVING A
MODIFIED INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT ESTABLISH-
ING THE PINELLAS COUNTy METROPOLITAN
PLANNING ORGANIZA TION.
WHEREAS, the Pinellas County Metropolitan Planning Organization
was created and established by an inter10cal agreement under Florida
Statute 163.01, which was dated August 17, 1977, to perform transportation
functions identified in Federal Laws Titled 2.3 U. S. C. and 49 u. S. C.; and
WHEREAS, the State legislature enacted Florida Statutes Section
334.2.15 to derine the Metropolitan Planning Organizations of Florida in
State Law; and
WHEREAS, this new Statute precipitates the need to have the
Metropolitan Planning Organization established under an interlocal agreement
which references Section 334.2.15 of Florida Statutes; and
WHEREAS, a modified inter10cal agreement has been developed which
references said Statute.
NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commiasion of the City of Clearwater. Florida. on
behalf of the City of Clearwater, Florida, does hereby approve the modified
inter10cal agreement submitted to it establishing the Metropolitan Planning
Organization. and agrees to be a member of such organization in conformance
with the terms of such modified agreement.
2.. That a copy of thia Resolution shall be submitted to the office of
the Governor and present members of the Metropolitan Planning Organization.
3. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.
