MANDALAY SHORES APARTMENTS IN THEIR REQUEST

URBAN DEVELOPMENT FOR ASSISTANCE IN IMPROVING
AND REPAIRING THEIR HOMES IN SUCH APARTMENTS,
SSaY:
TO APPROVE THE FORMATION OF A NONPROFIT HOUSING
ASSOCIATION, AND TO PROVIDE NECESSARY LONG TERM

SUCH IMPROVEMENTS AND REPAIRS.
WHEREAS, the United States Department of Housing and Urban
.N• Development is seeking buyers for Mandalay Shores Apartments located

.. WHEREAS, the residents of such apartments desire to continue residina

therein and have formed a non-profit corporation known as Mandalay Shores

WHEREAS, the residents are seeking assistance from the Department
' of Housing and Urban Development financially in the improvement and repair
of their apartment homes and seeking long term low interest loans for such
k f< improvements and repairs;
r NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
:
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater hereby
heartily supports the residents in the formation of a non-profit housing
association, supports the residents' petition and declaration of intent directed
to the Secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban
Development, and urges said Department to act upon the request for
?l{ financial assistance and consider the matter as an emergency in their prompt

2. That a copy of this Resolution shall be forwarded forthwith to
the Secretary of the United States Department of Housing and Urban
Development.
