A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, THROUGH ITS PERSONNEL DEPARTMENT TO
?r';¢ SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE STATE OF FLORIDA
FOR AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL PERSONNEL ACT GRANT
' g; : f•'?!i` FOR CONTINUATION OF A TAMPA BAY INTERGOVERN-
MENTAL TEST VALIDATION PROJECT.

WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater Personnel Department has
PAY implemented an intergovernmental test validation project; and
WHEREAS certain testa used b the City of Clearwater have been
4 s ry'gq developed in accordance with the City's Personnel Ordinance and the
Federal Uniform Guidelines on Employee Selection Procedures as a result
of the 1979 Test Validation Project; and
'=`b'`;•s; WHEREAS, as a result of this project, it was determined to continue
this effort to improve employee selection procedures; and

'a WHEREAS such an intergovernmental project would allow participants
to continue to share work efforts and results, thus avoiding expensive
duplication, and would allow the sharing of costs of employing technical
u experts needed to develop and validate employee selection tests;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:

1. That the City Commission hereby authorizes the Department of
b Personnel of the City of Clearwater, Florida, to file an application with the
State of Florida Department of Administration for an Intergovernmental

Personnel Act grant.
2. That Anthony L. Shoemaker, City Manager, of the City of
Clearwater, is hereby authorized to function as the official representative of
the City for this grant and he is authorized to provide proper assurances
and understanding such as will permit the completion of the project.
