A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY
OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO MAKE APPLICATION FOR AN ENERGY RECOVERY FROM
MUNICIPAL WASTE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM GRANT.
y';'`''i3r:T WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater presently has an Energy Management
Office; and,
w=!;?; EtF? WHEREAS, the Energy Management Office has made great progress
;' 's •r ,' in developing energy saving techniques; and,
WHEREAS, 'the City of Clearwater, through its Energy Office, desires
to apply for the Department of Energy's "Energy Recovery From Municipal
x'~{}a`'.',' F? Waste Development Program", to assist in broadening its energy management
ti3Ws• program; and,
WHEREAS it is the determination of the City Commission that energy
y}?N conservation efforts in the City of Clearwater could be enhanced through
obtaining this grant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission hereby authorize the Office cf Energy
Management of the City of Clearwater, Florida, to file a proposal and application
with the United States Department of Energy for an Energy Recovery From
Municipal Waste Development Demonstration Grant.
2. That Anthony L. Shoemaker, City Manager of the City of Clearwater,
Is hereby authorised to function as the official representative of the City for
this grant.
3. That a certified copy of this Resolution shall accompany such appli-
cation and proposal and shall be forwarded to the United States Department of
Energy,
4. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its
passage.
