A RESOLUTION COMMENDING VOPHIA PAYTON
FOR PILOTING THE WINNING PLANE IN T14E
TRANSCONTINENTAL AM RACE CLASSIC
WHEREAS, Sophia Payton has returned to Clearwater suer
winning the grueling 2.684-mile transcontinental Air Race Classic
that began its Lee Vegas and ended in. Dostin, Flarldaf and
WHEREAS, her winning this race in a field of 42 planes was
indeed an honor and proved her knowledge of weather, navigation and
aircraft operation was exceptional$ and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clearwater wishes
to express its congratulations to Sophia Payton for her victoryt
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS%
1. That the City Commission hereby congratulates Sophia Parton
for her victory In winning the transcontinental Air Race Classic and
wishes for her a victorious ending in the other races In which the is
planning to compete.
2. That a duplicate original of this Resolution be presented to
the said Sophia Payton.
3. Taat this Resolution shall become effective immediately
upon its adoption.
