A:RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CLEARWATER AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF
CLEARWATER ENERGY OFFICE TO APPLY FOR A
FEDERAL COMPREHENSIVE-COMMUNITY ENERGY
MANAGEMENT PROGRAM GRANT.
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater presently has an Office of
Energy Management; and
WHEREAS, the office has made great progress in developing energy
saving techniques, and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater, through its Energy Office desires
to apply for a Federal Comprehensive Community Energy Management
Program Grant such as could assist in developing a communitywide energy'
management program; and
WHEREAS, it is the determination of the City Commission that
energy conservation efforts in the City of Clearwater could be enhanced
through obtaining this grant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission hereby authorizes the Office of Energy
Management of the City of Clearwater, Florida, to file a proposal and
application with the United States Department of Energy for a Comprehensive
Community Energy Management Program Grant.
2. That Anthony L. Shoemaaker, City Manager of the City of Clearwater,
is hereby authorized to function as the official representative of the City for
this grant and he is authorized to provide proper assurances and understandings
such as will permit completion of the project.
3. That a certified copy of this Resolution shall accompany such
application and proposal and shall be forwarded to the United States
Department of Energy.

4. That this Resolution shall become effective immediately upon
