A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, SETTING FORTH CERTAIN RULES AND
` REGULATIONS TO REGULATE AND ADMINISTER
THE CLEARWATER CEMETERY,
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater is the owner of the Clearwater

' Cemetery; and

.}- WHEREAS, the City Commission passed Resolution No. 73-153 on
i, ...,.• November 13, 1973, setting forth certain rules, regulations and charges
in order to properly regulate and administer said Cemetery, which charges
were subsequently amended by Resolution No. 74-94 passed on August 26,
1974; and
WHEREAS, due to increased caste of maintenance, it is necessary
that certain of the charges, rules and regulations be amended and changed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That Resolution No. 73-153 which was passed on November 13,
1973, and Resolution No. 74-94 which was passed on August 26, 1974, be
repealed in their entirety as of the effective date of the rules and regulations
set out herein. -
2. That the following Rules and Regulations are hereby applicable to
all portions of Clearwater Cemetery:
a. No interment permitted unless payment in full for grave space
has been received by the City and burial permit issued.
b. A maximum of two burials in one space is permitted provided
at least one has been cremated or is a baby,
C. While reasonable precautions will be taken to prevent damage
by vandals, etc., the City will not assume any lability for
damage that occurs.
d. The City may repurchase spaces at original price less a
fifteen per cent (1576) service or transfer charge-.
e. A minimum of twelve (12) hours notice shall be required prior
to any interment. The cemetery groundskeepers will locate and
stake the space to be used at no charge during week days, but
there will be a charge of $15.00 if this service is performed on
Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays, The groundskeepers will also
remove excess dirt after closing. The funeral directors will be
responsible for all openings and closings.

f. That caskets under five feet (51) in length will not require
any vault or concrete receptacle, but any casket five feet
(51) or over shall require either a vault or an outside
' concrete receptacle.

3. That the following Rules and Regulations are hereby applicable

to Clearwater Cemetery Second Addition, Blocks 14, 15 and 16:
a. The purchase price of grave spaces will be as followst
Lots 1 - 496, Block 14 (Baby Spaces) $ 45.00
Spaces in Lots 497 to 576, Block 14, all
of Block 15, and Lots 1 - 40, Block 16 $170.00

Spaces in Lots 41 - 54, Block 16
(Adjacent to Railroad Right-of-Way) $100.00
`. b. All above-ground monuments, memorials, enclosures or
plantings are prohibited.
r c. Flower arrangements from the services will be permitted
for a maximum of seven days after date of burial, after which
baskets, urns and remaining flowers will be removed.
d. Potted plants, veterans' wreaths and flags will be permitted
on grave spaces for the observation of Memorial Day from
one week before and one week afterwards, after which they
will be removed.
e. Flower receptacles shall be placed in the ground with no
portion thereof above the ground level.
f. Only bronze, marble or granite tablets or markers will be
permitted with no portion thereof above ground level. Use of
home made markers is prohibited.
g. The size of markers shall be as follows;
Baby space markers
Adult single space markers
Double grave space markers
Minimum of 511 wide by 811 long
Maximum of 1011 wide by 1511 long
Minimum of 811 wide by 1211 long
Maximum of 1511 wide by 2411 long
Minimum of 811 wide by 1011 long
Maximum of 1511 wide by 4811 long
These measurements do not apply to government issue markers,
4. All of the above rules and regulations shall become effective thirty (30)
days after date of passage.
