A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CLEARWATER RECOGNIZING PACT, INC.,
A NON-PROFIT CORPORATION, AS A PRIVATE FUND
RAISING ORGANIZATION TO COLLECT FUNDS TO BE
USED IN CONSTRUCTING THE PERFORMING ARTS
CENTER TO BE LOCATED IN THE BAUMGARDNER
TRACT RECENTLY ACQUIRED BY THE CITY.
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater has acquired by donation a tract
of land known as the Baumgardner Tract; and
WHEREAS, it is proposed that a performing arts center and theater
will be constructed on the tract; and
WHEREAS, an organization known as PACT, Inc, has been formed to
serve as a vehicle through which citizens of Upper Pinellas County could
express their interest and support for the completion of this project; and
WHEREAS, PACT, Inc. is a Florida non-profit corporation which was
issued a charter on March 8, 1978, which charter is number 741890; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to recognize PACT, Inc.
as a fund raising agency or vehicle for the project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater does hereby
recognize PACT, Inc., a Florida non-profit corporation, chartered on March
8, 1978, and assigned Charter No. 741890, as a fund raising organization
through which interest and support may be expressed for the construction
of the Performing Arts Center and Theater on the Baumgardner Tract.
2., ..Than a certified copy of this Resolution be forwarded forthwith
to the President of PACT, Inc.
