A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CLEARWATER URGING THE COUNTY
COMMISSION OF PINELLAS COUNTY TO MAINTAIN
PRESENT COURT FACILITIES IN CLEARWATER AND
TO IMPROVE THE COURT FACILITIES LOCATED IN
CLEARWATER AND ST, PETERSBURG.
WHEREAS, the City Commission pursuant to Resolution No. 77-43,
adopted May•5, 1977, communicated its opposition to the plan of the Board
of County Commissioners to move the criminal court complex to the St.
Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport complex; and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners on March 7, 1978,
propose to make a decision relating to such court facilities; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida,
wishes to urge the Board of County Commissioners to keep such court
facilities in Clearwater;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF TI4E CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater wishes again
to go on record as being in opposition to locating the criminal court complex
at the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport, and further wishes to
request that the Board of County Convnissioners keep such court facilities
at their present- location in Clearwater, Florida.
2. That a certified copy of this resolution be forwarded forthwith
to the Chairman and each member of the Board of County Commissioners
and to the County Administrator.
3. That this resolution shall be effective immediately upon its adoption.
