A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF CLEARWATER SUPPORTING THE SPECIAL
LEGISLATION SUGGESTED BY PINELLAS COUNTY
TO CORRECT EXISTING ENCLAVE PROBLEMS IN
PINELLAS COUNTY.
WHEREAS, Pinellas "County has submitted a proposed special act
relating to Pinellas County providing a procedure to use in eliminating
enclave areas existing within the boundaries of the various municipalities
found in Pinellas County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater currently is faced with a oevere
problem relating to enclave areas within its boundaries; and
WHEREAS, a definite need exists to provide a solution to this problem
area in Pinellas County; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission wishes to indicate its support for
the bill submitted by Pinellas County;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater hereby wishes
to express its support for the bill submitted by Pinellas County and urge its
passage in order to provide a vehicle to correct the enclave problem existing
in Clearwater.
2. That a certified copy of this Resolution be forwarded forthwith
to the Pinellas County Legislative Delegation, the Board of County
Commissioners of Pinellas County and to the Florida League of Cities.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of February, A. D. 1978.
