WHEREAS, a Citizens' Dispute Settlement Program has been`. F
established in Pinellas County through the auspices of the State Attorney's,

Office; and
WHEREAS, the purpose of the Citizens' Dispute Settlement Program
is to help resolve matters of dispute between neighbors or family members or
between landlord and tenant; and
WHEREAS, the Citizens' Dispute Settlement Program has recently
been expanded to include an office in the City of Clearwater; and
WHEREAS, the Citizens' Dispute Settlement Program has achieved
a commendable record of resolving disputes; and
WHEREAS, the Citizens of Clearwater have made known to the elected
officials of the City of Clearwater that there is a need for a mechanism to
resolve a variety of disputes between citizens;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS;
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater hereby commends
the State Attorney for developing and propagating the Citizens' Dispute
Settlement Program, which has proven to be a successful means of
settling disputes.
2. That the City Commission encourages the citizens of Clearwater
to utilize the Citizens' Dispute Settlement Program to resolve disputes
concerning the respective rights of family members, of neighbors, and
of landlords and tenants. '
