RESOLUTION
No. 77 -82
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER
CITY COMMISSION SUPPORTING THE ACTION
PROPOSED BY PINELLAS COUNTY TO INCREASE
TAX MILLAGE IN THE: UNINCORPORATED AREAS.
WHEREAS, Pinellas County, Florida, has announced its plan to
increase the tax millage in the unincorporated areas of the County in order to
provide a more equitable distribution of the cost of services thus insuring
that the residents of the various municipalities are not burdened; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clearwater wishes
to indicate that it supports efforts by the Pinellas County Commission
to provide a more equitable tax structure;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS;
1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater supports
the plan proposed by the Pinellas County Commission to increase the tax
millage in the unincorporated areas of the County for the purpose of providing
a more equitable distribution of costs of providing services resulting in
less burden being placed on the residents of the various municipalities.
Z. That a copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the Chair of
the Pinellas County Commission and to the Pinellas County Administrator.
