RESOLUTION
No. 77 - 39,
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY'S
OFFICE TO ACCEPT SERVICE OF PROCESS IN SUITS
AGAINST THE CITY OF CLEARWATER AND THE
CITY COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, from time to time the individual members of the City
Commission of the City of Clearwater are sued in their official capacity as
City Commissioners of Clearwater, Florida; and
WHEREAS, the Pinellas County Sheriff's office expends considerable
time in personally serving suit papers on individual Commission members;
and
WHEREAS, the City Attorney's Office is composed of a full time legal
staff readily available to accept the service of Complaints against the City
and the City Commission;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
That the City Attorney's Office is hereby authorized to accept service
of process on behalf of the City of Clearwater and the individual members of
the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida.
