RESOLUTION
No. 77 - 12
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PREPARATION AND
SUBMITTAL OF AN APPLICATION FOR FUNDING UNDER
THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ACT
OF 1974,
WHEREAS, the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974
provides Federal Block Grant Funds to designated cities and counties; and
WHEREAS, it is expected that the City of Clearwater could receive
such funds which would primarily be spent in low and moderate income areas
of Clearwater in varied projects; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater already has on file with the
Department of Housing and Urban Development a Community Development
program in the amount of $675, 000; and
WHEREAS, it is estimated that the Community Development Block
Grant for the coming program year will be awarded in the approximate sum
of $$26, 000, of which the entire sum is to be the Department of Housing and
Urban Development's share;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized as of this date to
begin preparing an application for funds under the provisions of the Housing
and Community Development Act of 1974 and to begin incurring costs essential
to the planning and preparation of the application, as required in Section
570.302(c), Federal Register, Volume 40, No. 111.
2. That the City of Clearwater recognizes that reimbursement for
such costs will be dependent upon the availability of funds to implement
the Act and on timely submission of an application.
3. That Picot B. Floyd, City Manager of the City of Clearwater,
is designated as the official of the City of Clearwater to act for and on behalf

Development Act of 1974 pursuant to Section 570. 3(d), Federal Register,
Volume 40, No, 111. r
4. That a certified copy of this Resolution shall be included as a
part of the application for such funds.
