No. 77 - 11
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF CLEARWATER,
FLORIDA, THROUGH ITS PERSONNEL DEPARTMENT, TO
SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE STATE OF FLORIDA FOR
AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL PERSONNEL ACT GRANT.
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater has an entrance examination for
almost every job classification; and
WHEREAS, a need exists to conduct a program of test validation in
order to comply with the City of Clearwater Affirmative Action Plan and also
with present Federal EEOC test requirements; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that in order to fully
accomplish such test validation, an application should be made to the State
of Florida Department of Administration for an Intergovernmental Personnel
Act grant;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CI'T'Y
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission hereby authorizes the Department of
Personnel of the City of Clearwater, Florida, to file an application with the
State of Florida Department of Administration for an Intergovernmental
Personnel Act grant.
2. That Picot B. Floyd, City Manager, of the City of Clearwater,
is hereby authorized to function as the official representative of the City for
this grant and he is authorized to provide proper assurances and understandings
such as will permit the completion of the project.
3. That a certified copy of this Resolution shall accompany such application
and shall be forwarded to the State of Florida Department of Personnel.
