A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY ATTORNEY
TO DEFEND COMMISSIONERS OF CLEARWATER AND
GAS AND WATER UTILITY COMPANIES IN THE CASE
OF CHRISTINE KENO VS. C. BILL YOUNG, ETC. ET
AL, UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT, CIVIL ACTION
NO. 76-B62-TH.
WHEREAS, the Commissioners of Clearwater and the gas and water
utility companies have been sued in the case of Christine Keno vs. C. Bill Young,
for Governor Reuben Askew, President of Florida Senate, Speaker of the House,
Members of the Legislature, Commissioners of Clearwater, Gas, Electric and
Water Utility Companies, Sheriff/ S. C. C. Civil 74-4456, Clearwater Judges:
Stoutmire, Driver and Phillips, United States District Court for the Middle
District, Tampa, Florida, Civil Action No. 76..862-TH; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 31 of the Charter of the City of Clearwater,
the City Attorney must have authorization to enter into the defense of this
litigation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
That the City Attorney is hereby authorized to take any and all steps
necessary to defend the Commissioners of Clearwater and Gas and Water Utility
Companies in the case of Christine Keno vs. C. Bill Young, for Governor Reuben
Askew, President of Florida Senate, Speaker of the House, Members of the
Legislature, Commissioners of Clearwater, Gas, Electric and Water Utility
Companies, Sheriff/ S. C. C. Civil 74-4456, Clearwater Judges: Stoutmire, Driver
and Phillips, United States District Court for the Middle District, Tampa, Florida,
Civil Action No. 76-862-TH.
