A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE STATE OF FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TO REMOVE STATE
ROUTE 60'FROM CLEVELAND STREET,
WHEREAS, a group of business men in Clearm ter has been formed
into a committee known as the SR 60 Committee; and

?- WHEREAS, this committee has engaged in a study of State Road 60

and its potential realignment; and
x. WHEREAS, the committee has made a presentation to the Clearwater
Downtown Development Board and has received its report of the concept that
State Road 60 should be realigned to the Court Street by-pass; and
4s WHEREAS, the committee has now sought support from the Clearwater

} City Commission; and

A WHEREAS, the City Commission has determined that it is in agreement
with and can support the proposed realignment of State Road 60 to the Court
Street by-pass;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,

IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
K 1. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater is in support

of the realignment of State Road 60 to the Court Street by-pass and hereby
fi requests the State of Florida Department of Transportation to implement this

realignment.
x. That in implementing this request, the City Commission requests
the State of Florida Department of Transportation to enter into detailed planning
with the City of Clearwater for the purpose of implementing the realignment
of State Road 60 as conceptually proposed by the SR 60 Committee on
December 29, 1976.

3. That the State of Florida Department of Transportation continence
the acquisition of right-of-way for and construction of a new road which would
connect Cleveland Street to. Draw Street, such connection to be made East of
East Avenue in Clearwater, Florida.
4. That a certified copy of this Resolution be forwarded to the State
of Florida Department of Transportation, Bartow, Florida.
