RESOLUTION
No. 76 .. 133
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO EMPLOY THE FIRM OF SHACKLEFORD, FARRIOR,
STALLINGS & EVANS, TAMPA, FLORIDA, TO REPRESENT
ALL EMPLOYEES SUBPOENAED TO APPEAR AT A MEETING
OF THE CIVIL SERVICE BOARD TO BE HELD ON
NOVEMBER 8, 1976.
WHEREAS, the Civil Service Board has issued a series of subpoenaes
to employees of the City of Clearwater; and
WHEREAS, a similar problem has previously arisen with respect to
employees issued subpoenaes to attend a similar meeting previously scheduled
for August 23, 1976; and
WHEREAS, providing for representation to such employees may
require instituting legal action;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IMSESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
That the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to employ the
firm of Shackleford, Farrior, Stallings & Evans, Tampa, Florida, to provide
advice and counsel and to take whatever steps may be necessary, excepting
recovery of damages, to defend any and all employees of the City of Clear-
water who are required to appear before the Civil Service Board on November
8, 1976, pursuant to subpoena.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of November, A. D. 1976.
