-? A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
SUBMIT AN APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL FUNDING FOR
THE McMULLEN COMMUNITY CENTER AND McMULLEN
PARK ROAD AND ELEVEN TENNIS COURTS TO THE UNITED
STATES ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION FOR
FUNDING UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYMENT ACT
OF 1976.
WHEREAS, Title II of the Public Works Employment Act of 1976
provides direct Federal Grant Funds to general purpose governments and
special purpose units; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater has eligible projects, the McMullen
Community Center and McMullen Park Road and eleven Tennis Courts; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater is desirous of obtaining Federal
funding for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF TIC; CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION REGULARLY AND DULY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute
and file an application for the McMullen Community Center and McMullen Park
Road and eleven Tennis Courts with the Economic Development Administration
for funding under the Public Works Employment Act of 1976, to provide additional
information and to furnish such documents as may be required by the Economic
Development Administration, to execute such contracts as are required by the
Economic Development Administration, and to act as the authorized representative
of the Applicant, the City of Clearwater.
Z. That a certified copy of this Resolution be included as part of the
City's application to be submitted to the Economic Development Admini.straLion.
