No. 76 - 119
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO SUBMIT
AN APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL FUNDING FOR A BRANCH
LIBRARY IN EAST CLEARWATER TO THE UNITED STATES
ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADMINISTRATION FOR FUNDING
UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS EMPLOYMENT ACT OF 1976.
WHEREAS, Title II of the Public Works Employment Act of 1976
provides direct Federal Grant Funds to goneral purpose governments
and special purpose units; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater has an eligible project, a Branch
Library in East Clearwater , and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater is desirous of obtaining b'ederal
funding for this project;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, IN SESSION REGULARLY
AND DULY ASSEMBLED, AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to execute
and file an application for a Branch Library in East Clearwater with the
Economic Development Administration for funding under the Public Works
Employment Act of 1976, to provide additional information and to furnish
such documents as may be required by the Economic Development Admin-
istration, to execute such contracts as are required by the Economic Develop-
meet Administration, and to act as the authorized representative of the
Applicant, the City of Clearwater.
2. That a certified copy of this Resolution be included as part of the
City's application to be submitted to the Economic Development Admin-
istration.
