A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING MARYBETH LAVALLEE
TO DEFEND THE CITY OF CLEARWATER IN THE CASE
OF PICOT B. FLOYD, ET AL VS. CIVIL SERVICE BOARD,
CITY OF CLEARWATER, CIRCUIT CIVIL NO. 76-7724-16.
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater has been used in the case of
Picot B. Floyd, as Appointing Authority and City Manager, and Thomas A,
Bustin, City Attorney, and Frank X. Kowalski, Chief Assistant City Attorney,
Complainants, vs, Civil Service Board, City of Clearwater, Respondents,
Circuit Civil No. 76-7724-16; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 31 of the Charter of the City of
Clearwater, the Legal Department must have authorization to enter into
the defense of this litigation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
That Marybeth Lavallee, Assistant City Attorney, is hereby
authorized to take any and all steps necessary to defend the City of Clearwater
in the case of Picot B. Floyd, as Appointing Authority and City Manager,
and Thomas A. Bustin, City Attorney, and Frank X. Kowalski, Chief Assistant
City Attorney, Complainants, vs. Civil Service Board, City of Clearwater,
Respondents, Circuit Civil No. 76-7724-16.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 23rd day of August, A. D. 1976.
