`<z A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
SUBMIT AN APPLICATION TO THE UNITED STATES
DEPARTMENT OF HOUSING AND URBAN DEVELOPMENT'
FOR FUNDING UNDER THE HOUSING AND COMMUNITY i
DEVELOPMENT ACT q ?? f
WHEREAS, Title I of the Housing and Community Development Act
of 1974 provides annual Federal Block Grant Funds to designated cities and

WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater already has on file with the
4 Department of Housing and Urban Development a first year Community
Fw`" Development program and budget in the amount of $209, 000; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater is desirous of continuing its
f;;6 yryi' program of Community Development activities and, further, that Federal
monies are now available for the second program year; and

,? WHEREAS, it is expected that the City of Clearwater will be awarded

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, ,t

FOLLOWS;
1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to
execute and file an application with the Department of Housing and Urban

Development for block grant funds under the Housing and Community ! t
Development Act of 1974, to provide additional information and to furnish
such documents as may be required by the Department of Housing and Urban
Development, to execute such contracts as are required by the Department,
and to act as the authorized representative of the Applicant, the City of
Clearwater.
