RESOLUTION
No. 76 - 29
1 WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clearwater is now
on record as set out in Resolution No. 75-41, passed and adopted March 1,
1975; Resolution No. 75-117, passed and adopted on September 4, 1975,
and Resolution No. 76-22, passed and adopted February 190 1976, as
opposed to the Pinellas Parkway; and
WHEREAS, general objection to proposed actions by the Pinellas
County Transpowtation Authority has been widespread among citzens of
1 Pinellas County and Citizen's Groups; and
WHEREAS, despite the passage of time the Pinellas Count Trans-

portation Authority has been unable to devise a route acceptable to both
the municipalities and citizens of Pinellas County; and
WHEREAS, it is believed that further efforts by the Pinellas County
Transportation Authority to formulate a route acceptable to all concerned
municipalities, citizens and gro(ips will not lead to a resolution of the
problems and concerns that 1•.Lve arisen; and
WHEREAS, it is believed that a new approach to those problems
and concerns is warranted;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY'
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION REGULARLY AND DULY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the Legislative Delegation of Pinellas County request the
Legislature of the State of Florida to take whatever action is necessary to
dissolve the Pinellas County Transportation Authority.
2. That certified copies of this Resolution be forwarded forthwith
to the following: The Pinellas County Transportation Authority, the Pinellas
County Commission, the St. Petersburg City Council, the cities of Largo,
Safety Harbor, Dunedin, Pinellas Park, Tarpon Springs and all municipalities
