RESOLUTION
No. 75 - 91
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clearwater recognizing
the need of reducing the amount of domestic water used for irrigation purposes
previously adopted a policy concerning such use; and
WHEREAS, said policy was amended by Resolution No. 73122
which was passed by the City Commission on September 17, 1973; and
WHEREAS, it is desired to amend this policy in some respects and
to clarify same by repealing said Resolution and enacting this one in its stead;
NOW, THEREFORE, HE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
Section 1. That Resolution No. 73..122, pasoed on September 17,
1973, is hereby repealed in its entirety.
Section 2. That the following policy concerning the use of domestic
water for irrigation purposes shall be followed and adhered to:
1. Water meters for irrigation purposes already in service shall be
charged the regular domestic rate for water used for irrigation purposes in
accordance with the ordinances of the City of Clearwater.
Z. The installation of additional water meters for irrigation purposes
and the use of oversized meters in the future shall be discouraged, but they
may be installed at the property owner's expense upon request by the property
owner.
3. If a City of Clearwater water customer installs and operates
his own shallow well for irrigation purposes, then the water meter for irrigation
purposes may be removed and a refund be paid to the customer in the amount
of 1007o of the tap fee previously paid for the said meter.
4. The use of shallow wells for irrigation purposes shall be
encouraged. City permits for and inspection of shallow well installations
shall be on a no-charge basis. The Utility Department will assist to the extent
possible those customers who desire to install their own shallow wells.

5; The sprinkling, watering or irrigation of (shrubbery, trees, lawns,
grass,", ground cover, plants, vines, gardens, vegetables, flowers, or any
other vegetation shall be prohibited between the hours of 10 A. M, andA P. M.
Such sprinkling shall be done during the authorizdd hodra on the system
whereby even numbered houses sprinkle on even numbered days and odd
numbered houses sprinkle on odd numbered days.
