WHEREAS, a suit has boon filed in the United States District Court
for the Middle District of Florida, Tampa, Division, styled John C. Stapleton,
Plaintiff, vs. G. H. Hickman and Robert Chaple, Individually and as Police
Officers in the Police Department of the City of Clearwater, Florida, Defendants,
being Civil Action File No. 75..398-Civ. T-H; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission deeire3s to authorize the Legal
Department to defend said suit and to take any and all necessary action
in such defense;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
That the Legal Department is hereby authorized to defend the suit
filed in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida,
Tampa Division, styled John C. Stapleton, Plaintiff, vs. G. H. Hickman
and Robert Chaple, Individually and as Police Officers in the Police Department
of the City of Clearwater, Florida, Defendants, being Civil Action File No. '
75-398-Civ. T..H; and to take any and all necessary action in such defense.
