J RESOLUTION No. 75 - 66 ?t c;,p ;ivy WHEREAS, it has been brought to the attention of the City Commission of the City of Clearwater that certain proposed bills have been filed with the Florida State Legislature to enact a resort tax; and WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater feels that if such a resort tax is approved that a portion of it should go to the municipalities involved since there is additional costs for services needed to take care of the influx of visitors to an area; and WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater desires to go on record as approving a resort tax if fifty per cent (5076) of such a tax is returned to the municipality from which it was collected; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, IN SESSION REGULARLY AND DULY ASSEMBLED, AS FOLLOWS: 1. That the City of Clearwater officially urges the Florida State Legislature to return fifty per cent (50%) of any resort tax collected to the municipality from which it was collected if the proposed legislation levying such resort taxes is passed. 2. That a certified copy of this Resolution be forwarded forthwith to the Pinellas County Legislative Delegation in Tallahassee, Florida. PASSED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of May, A. D, 1975.
