RESOLUTION
No. 75 - 64
WHEREAS, it has boon previously been called to the attention of
the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida, that there are
many instances of substantial properties being underassessed in and about
the City of Clearwater and Pinellas County; and
WHEREAS, it is unfair and discriminating to others who are paying
their fair share of taxes for this practice to continue; and
WHEREAS, it is felt that some consideration should be given to the
zoning of the property as being one of the criteria for assessment;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the Pinellas County Tax Assessor, Mac S. Haines, be
made aware of the fact that the City Commission of the City of Clearwater,
Florida, feels that there are many instances of inequities in the taxation
of certain properties in and about the City of Clearwater in Pinellas County
and that he place a fair, equitable and just tax on all property in Pinellas
County to insure.that all people are treated fairly and equally.
2. That the City Commission of the City of Clearwater, Florida,
feels that this may be a state-wide problem and certainly a county-wide:
problem, and urges that this matter be considered and given proper
attention by all affected state and county agencies.
3'. That a copy of this resolution be sent to Mac S. Haines, County
