RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, losses in State revenue receipts have caused reductions
in the amounts of revenue sharing funds distributed to the various local
governments; and
WHEREAS, such adjustments in mid-budget year have caused great
difficulties with the local budgets by reducing budget revenues after budgets
have gone into operation; and
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater feels that in any instance where the
State must reduce revenue sharing funds distributed to local governments,
the State should absorb said loss for the current budget year and distribute
to the local governments all funds which have been authorized to be distributed
prior to said reduction during the current budget year and make adjustments
in revenue sharing funds during the following budget year;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City of Clearwater hereby urges the State of Florida to
absorb any loss for the current budget year in any instance where there must
be a reduction in revenue sharing funds distributed to local governments and
make adjustments in revenue sharing funds during the following budget year.
2. That certified copies of this Resolution be transmitted to the
Governor of the State of Florida, the Pinellas County Legislative Delegation
and the Board of County Commissioners of Pinellas County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of April, A. D. 1975.
