Z. That certified copies of this Resolution shall be forwarded forthwith
to Robert B. Mautz, Chancellor, Board of Regents, State University System
of Florida, 107 W. Gaines Street, Tallahassee, Florida 32304; to Cecil
Mackey, President, University of South Florida, Tampa, Florida; to the
Pinellas County Legislative Delegation; and to the Board of Commissioners
of Pinellas County, Florida.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of March, A. D. 1975.

WHEREAS, the electors of the City of Clearwater have, by a referendum
straw vote held in conjunction with the recent City election, expressed their
f`=s' desire that the City of Clearwater not provide municipally owned land for a
-}{2 campus for the University of South Florida; and
s.
WHEREAS, it is felt by many concerned that such 1 campus would be
desirable but that the site for said proposed campus and the cost thereof
should be a joint effort of all of the citizens of Pinellas County; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Clearwater feels
that there should be one new campus for the University of South Florida in
Pinellas County and that it should be centrally located therein;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
3 COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION REGULARLY AND DULY ASSEMBLED, AS
x? t FOLLOWS:
1. That the City Commission urges the Board of Regents of the
.f, State University System of Florida to locate the new Pinellas County campus
for the University of South Florida at a centrally located site in Pinellas
County.
