WHERI}AS, the City of Clearwater has previously funded certain
social and service agencies which operate within the City and assist our
citizens; and
WHEREAS, these various agencies have requested assistance again

from the City of Clearwater; and'
WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater feels that these agencies perform
a service for the whole of Pinellas Counter and that these agencies should
be subsidized from taxes collected from all of the citizens of Pinellas
County; and
WHEREAS, it is felt to be imperative to request Pinellas County and
The School Board to take over any necessary, supplemental funding needed..
next year by these agencies; '
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY
COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA,
IN SESSION REGULARLY AND DULY ASSEMBLED, AS
FOLLOWS:
1. That the City of Clearwater hereby officially requests the-Board
of County Commissioners of Pinellas County to immediately take steps to take
over any necessary supplemental funding needed next year for the social and
service agencies now being funded by the City of Clearwater, to wit:
Clearwater Neighbors
Opportunities Industrialization Center
Religious Community Services
Community Pride Nursery
Quest Inn
Upper Pinellas Association for Retarded Children
Family Counseling Center (Homemaker/Horne-Health Aid)
Child Guidance Clinic
District Mental Health Board
Legal Aid Society of Clearwater
Morton Plant Hospital
since, these service? 'are beneficial County-wide and should be funded from taxes
collected from all the citizens of Pinellas County.
