74-80 RESO LUTION No. 74 - 8? WHEREAS, Florida Power Corporation has requested the Public Service Commission to grant It another very substantial raise in electric rates; and WHEREAS, many of the citizens of Clearwater are living on fixed incomes and another substantial raise In their utility rates would be a hardship to them; and WHEREAS, the City of Clearwater desires to oppose such a raise in rates because it feels it is an unnecessary burden on the citizens of the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF CLEARWATER, FLORIDA, IN SESSION DULY AND REGULARLY ASSEMBLED, AS FOLLOWS: 1, That the City of Clearwater hereby officially opposes the requested raise in electric rates made by the Florida Power Corporation and authorizes a representative designated by the City Manager to represent the City and present its views at all hearings before the Public Service Commission concerning said r. eque et. 2. That certified copies of this Resolution be transmitted forthwith to the Public Service Commission, Tallahassee, Florida, and to the Board of County Commissioners of Pinellas County, Florida.
